'New Brunswick, Maine'. Appendix volume to the Report of the United States and the British (concerning British possessions in North America) Boundary Commission under the Treaty of Washington, 1842, defining the eastern boundary. Showing boundry of the source of River St Croix and River St Lawrence. Two pages of manuscript plans and sections of the large and small monuments erected to mark the boundary, drawn by J Wilkinson to an eighth scale. ff 2-133 are composed of printed sheets on which the British Commission entered in manuscript its measurements of distances, bearings, positions of monuments and general remarks, in tabular form. Each folio is signed by I B Bucknall Estcourt, the British Commissioner, and the volume was sent to the Foreign Office in his dispatch of 31 January 1848. Containing the manuscript findings as to measurements and bearings of the United States commission. Each folio is signed by Albert Smith, commissioner and Major J D Graham of the US Topographical Engineers. For particulars see 38358 (F15494/1908)
