'New Brunswick, Quebec, Maine'. One of six volumes of survey maps of the boundary (from the source of the St Croix River to the St Lawrence River) between the United States and the British possessions in North America; made under Article 6 of the Treaty of Washington, 9 August 1842. Surveyed and marked under the direction of the Joint Commission, and enclosed in the British Commissioner's, Colonel Estcourt's despatch number 48 of 1 January 1848. Volume 1, from the source of the St Croix to Lake Pohenagamook. 1:15,840. Original signed maps. Each map is signed by the British and US commissioners and bears its surveyors' names. British territory shaded pink. Index map to sixty-two maps of the boundary between the source of the River St Croix and Lake St Francis (Pohenagamook) and maps 1-18. Scale: 4 inches to 1 mile.
