The chart shows, besides Washington territory, territory of British Columbia bordering the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Gulf of Georgia. Triangulation executed between 1853 and 1859. Topography and hydrography between 1841 and 1850. Table of abbreviations for the sea bottom, table of lighthouses, tide table, note on sources. Map O, used by the Foreign Office in January 1873, to illustrate the United States and Canadian boundary survey of the Juan de Fuca Strait. United States Coast Survey: A D Bache Superintendent.
