United States of America: Maryland: Chesapeake Bay. Admiralty Charts 355 a and b: 'Chesapeake Bay from the United States Coast Survey 1859'. Scale: 1 inch to about 4 miles. Compass roses. The sea is tinted blue, railway lines and the cities of Washington, Richmond and Baltimore are coloured red. Two sheets. Topography from Blunt's Map compiled from Official sources and published in 1861. Drawn by Edward J Powell. Engraved by J and C Walker. Published on 31 October 1861.Manuscript additions in red ink show position of McClellan's troops near Richmond, before and after retreat, June 1864.
