Puerto Rico. IDWO 1338. 'Plan of the Harbour, Town and Island of St. Juan de Porto-Rico, with a sketch of the Coast as far as the Point of Cangrejos, showing the disposition of the Works thrown up against the place by the English Forces, under Sir Ralph Abercromby: and the situation of the Ships of War, Transports at the disembarkation, in April 1797. Major-General Morse, Chief Royal Engineer upon the Staff of Great Britain'. Plan shows fortifications and position of British vessels. Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Key to defences and British fleet positions. (Sgnd) Major Charles Shipley, Commanding Royal Engineer, Windward and Leeward Islands, 24 May 1797. Copied at the Ordnance Survey Office, 1898. Accompanied by a reprint of a bulletin from the London Gazette of 6 June 1797 which published a despatch from Sir Ralph Abercromby (2 folios).
