Costa Rica. 'Carte de la République de Costa Rica dédiée au Souverain Congrès, par le Capitaine Gel. Lafond Consul Gal. de cette République en France. 1851'. Parts of Nicaragua and Panama shown. Scale: 1 inch to about 27 miles. 'Gravée sur Pierre par Fd Delamare...Paris'. Coloured around Golfo Dulce. Two insets: (1) Plan of Golfo Dulce with soundings, scale: 1 inch to about 8 miles . (2) Plan of the bays of Boca Del Toro et de Chiriqui, scale: 1 inch to about 5 miles, soundings. Revised edition, corrected in 1856 from the chart of Capitaine de Lapelin. The inset plan of the Golfo Dulce by Cheron, 1850, was replaced by a chart taken from de Lapelin's of 1852. A double line joining the Golfo Dulce and the Chiriqui Lagoon has been added in manuscript.
