Description

Mexico, New Mexico, Texas. 'Boundary between the United States and Mexico showing the Initial Point under the Treaty of 30 December 1853'. Shows streets, rivers, fields and buildings.Scale: 1 inch to about 1 mile. Table of positions astronomically determined. Two maps surveyed 1855 by William H Emory, United States Commissioner, assisted by J H Clark, M Von Hippel and J E Weyss. Drawn by F Herb. Views by John Weyss, engraved by W H Dougal: (1) View eastwards along the boundary from monument no 3. (2) The Initial Point of the boundary line on the Rio del Norte. Published by authority of the Hon Robert McCelland, Secretary of the Interior.
