Area now in Guyana: 'Map of British Guiana constructed from the Surveys and Routes of Captain Schomburgk and other documents in the possession of the Colonial Department'. Scale: 1 inch to 14.5 miles. Explanations gives key to boundaries claimed. Drawn at the Military Depot Quarter Master General's Office, Horse Guards London, by L J Herbert, April 1842. In addition to the boundary of British Guiana claimed by Great Britain, it illustrates Venezuelan and Brazilian claims and shows Schomburgk's route and areas occupied by sugar, coffee and cotton plantations. A manuscript note: 'For description of Boundary agreed upon between Brazil and Venezuela in 1884 see Inclosure in C.O. Letter of 12 June/1888'.
