Admiralty Chart 285: 'East Coast of Newfoundland. Orange Bay to Gander Bay including Notre Dame and White Bays. St. John to Toulinguet Harbours ...'. Scale of chart: 1 inch to about 4 miles. Compass roses. Surveyed by Staff Commander W F Maxwell assisted by Staff Commanders J E Coghlan and J G Boulton and Navigating Lieutenants W N Goalen, J W Dixon and F Haslewood, all Royal Navy, 1877-1881. The portion east of Toulinguet Islands by Staff Commander J H Kerr, Royal Navy 1869-1871. The remainder from a survey by Lieutenant F Bullock, Royal Navy, 1825. Insets: (1) 'Round Harbour. From a French Govt. Plan 1884.' Scale of inset (1): 1 inch to about 1.5 cables. (2) 'Cutwell Harbour By Staff Commander W. F. Maxwell, Royal Navy 1879.' Scale of inset (2): 1 inch to about 3.5 cables. (3) 'Great Troytown Harbour By Staff Commander W.F.Maxwell, Royal Navy 1879.' Scale of inset (3): 1 inch to about 3.5 cables.
