Brazil, French Guiana. 'Carte du territoire qui était en litige entre le Brésil et la France soumis à l'arbitrage du Gouvernement Suisse'. Map showing territory in dispute between Brazil and France, which extended eastwards between Cap d'Orange and the Araguari estuary to the Rio Branco. Map shaded to illustrate French and Brazilian claims at various periods. Red shading added in manuscript to show the land to the north of the Tumucumaque chain awarded to France. British Guiana, Dutch Guiana and part of Venezuela are also shown. Scale: 1 inch to about 65 miles. Key to territorial claims.
