Area now in Canada: British Columbia: Juan de Fuca Strait. Admiralty chart: unnumbered, undated, lacking the Admiralty imprint: 'Strait of Juan de Fuca and the channels between Vancouver Id. [Island] and the Continent showing the boundary line between British and American Possessions. From the Admiralty Surveys by Captains H Kellett, Royal Navy, 1847 and G H Richards, Royal Navy 1858-63'. Beneath the title is pasted a printed note: 'The limits of the channel separating the Continent from Vancouver Island as determined by the Award of the Emperor of Germany 21st October 1872 have been defined, but the Boundary line has not been drawn'. Signed by George Henry Richards. Manuscript additions highlight in blue the channel through the Juan de Fuca and Haro Straits to the Gulf of Georgia; red and blue lines show boundaries proposed by the British and United States Governments. Drawn by J Powell of the Hydrographic Office. Lithographed by Malby and Sons.
