United States of America: South Carolina: 'Preliminary Chart of Charleston Harbor and its approaches'. U S Coast Survey Chart. Table of currents, tides, buoys and beacons. Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Sailing directions. Surveyed by C O Boutelle and S A Gilbert. Hydrographical surveys directed by Lieutenant J N Maffitt, USN and Superintendent A D Bache. Views taken from the main ship channel and the north channel with nores on currents, tides, buoys, beacons and sailing directions. Published 1855. Electrotype from the engravings of F Dankworth, J Knight, E Yeager, W Smith and F McCoy.
