United States of America: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. 'Map of the Territory of Florida. From its Northern boundary to Lat: 27° 30'N, Connected with the Delta of the Mississippi. Annexed to the report of the Board of Internal Improvement dated Feb 19th 1829 relating to the Canal contemplated to connect the Atlantic with the Gulf of Mexico; and describing the Inland Navigation parallel to the Coast from the Mississippi to the Bay of Espiritu Santo; and from St. Mary's Harbour to St. Augustine'. Shows proposed canal network with topography and soundings. Two sections through Florida peninsula. Insets of harbours in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. Scale: 1 inch to about 10 miles. Three sheets. Drawn and compiled by Lieutenant W H Swift, Royal Artillery, and engraved by W I Stone. Signed by members of the Board.
