Description

Brazil. 'Sketch map showing the existing submarine telegraphic communication between Europe and Brazil and the proposed extensions from St. Vincent to the West Coast of Africa 1884'. Map shows the lines of Brazilian, Spanish and French cable companies. Scale: 1 inch to about 360 miles. Keys to cable routes and to the ownership of African coastal territory. F le B Bedwell, Royal Navy, surveyor. Malby and Sons, lithographers. Noted as a copy map sent to Mr Patey of the Post Office by Mr Pender, Admiralty Assistant Hydrographer, and Lord Monck.
