'Map of Central America, showing the different lines of Atlantic and Pacific Communication by James Wyld'. Shows proposed routes: from San Juan del Norte Realejo, from San Juan del Norte to San Juan del Sur, from Chagres to Panama across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Sections through these routes and section through the River Colorado. Scale of map: 1 inch to 48 miles. Key to distances. Inset geological map of the area round the Chagres-Panama route. Scale of inset: 1 inch to 5.5 miles. Quibo Island, off the south coast of Panama, is circled in blue pencil. Published 21 January 1850 by James Wyld, London
