Area now in Canada: Quebec, Ontario. Survey in seven sheets of the area on either side of the St Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers from the Isle du Grand Calumet to the sea. Shows administrative divisions, roads, allotments, buildings, canals, soundings. Some sheets have borders in preparation for printing. Scale of map: 1 inch to about 2 miles. Insets: (1) Mountainous view of St Lawrence estuary. (2) Smaller scale map of the area of Quebec and New Brunswick south of the gulf. (3) The Rideau Canal between Lake Rideau and Kingston. Two sections, one showing the levels of the Rideau Canal from the Ottawa River to Lake Ontario, the other showing part of the Grenville Canal. Scale of insets: 1 inch to 11 miles. Surveyed by J G C [James Grant Chewett, surveyor]. Originally filed with Mr Clowes report, York, 14 August 1828.
