Area now in Somalia. 'Map of several routes in Northern Somali-Land, reconnoitred by Capt. [Captain] H.G.C. Swayne R.E. and Lieut. [Lieutenant] E.J..E. Swayne, Bengal Staff Corps ...'. The map shows routes, tribal boundaries, water, terrain, graves. Four sheets and a reduced plan. Notes on tribes. Reference table and table of fixed positions. Scale: 1 inch to 4 miles; reduced plan: 1 inch to 16 miles. Compass indicators. Captain H G C Swayne, Royal Engineers, Quarter Master General's Department. Published from Swayne's original by the Survey of India Office, Calcutta, April 1892.
