Kenya. 'Rough plan of Mwele'. Plan showing town, roads, terrain, gap through forest where trees were cut down, headquarters of British troops, and positions of and routes taken by First and Second Divisions of troops. Scale: 1 inch to 150 yards. Compass indicator. Signed by Captain G L Egerton, Royal Navy. Enclosure in Admiralty letter of 26 September 1895. Admiral Rawson and Sir William Mathews left Mombasa with an expedition against M'bruck bin Rashed on 12 August 1895; they took his stronghold at Mwele on 17 August.
