Area now in Egypt, Sudan, Uganda, Zaire, Central African Republic. 'A Map of the Nile Basin compiled at Stanford's Geographical Establishment for the Account of Mahdiism and the Egyptian Sudan by Major Wingate R.A. under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel J.C. Dalton, 1891'. Shows extent of the Mahdist revolt, dates at which provinces in the Sudan came under Egyptian rule, frontiers of Congo Free State and French Congo territories subject to agreements between Great Britain and Belgium and between France and Congo Free State. Reference table. 1894. The map was issued as IDWO 860 in 1891 and re-issued with interim corrections overprinted, in October 1898, as IDWO 1373.
