Description

Central Africa. 'Political Map of Equatorial Africa, by J G Bartholomew, F.R.G.S., showing the respective spheres of influence as defined under the Anglo-German Treaty of July 1890'. Shows British, French, German, Italian and Portuguese possessions. Coloured manuscript additions show territories acquired by treaties with native chiefs in Imperial British East Africa. Reference table: manuscript and typed reference table to territories secured under treaties since the grant of the Company's Charter. Inset: 'Town and Harbour of Mombasa'. Issued by the Imperial British East Africa Company.
