Description

Memoranda of orders to be actioned by the clerks of the Petty Bag, taken during common law sittings of the Court of Chancery.

The rolls note the dates when sheriffs were due to appear in court with defendants; transcripts of orders to sheriffs to bring defendants into court by virtue of letters of attachment; and details of the penalties to be enforced if these orders were not fulfilled.

The date and details of the case are given at the beginning of each entry, and the county to which the dispute relates is given in the margin.
