Description (What the record is about)
-
Memoranda of orders to be actioned by the clerks of the Petty Bag, taken during common law sittings of the Court of Chancery.
The rolls note the dates when defendants were expected to appear in court; dates by which payments were to be made; and notes to commence the indictment of defendants should they fail to appear on a writ of scire facias.
In the margins appear the names of the parties in the case with the name of the county, and therefore the sheriff, concerned in the suit. Under each entry, details of the outcome of the business noted in the memoranda have been added in another hand.
