The contents of these documents include
- Charles II's repudiation of any marriage to the mother of the Duke of Monmouth, and James II's attestations to the authenticity of the birth of a son to his consort Mary Beatrice in 1688;
- the Declaration of Rights of 1689, and William of Orange's answer to it;
- Parliament pawns, of which there are originals in C 218;
- parliamentary proceedings against the Jacobite Duke of Ormonde in 1715;
- compositions for depopulation by enclosing landlords in the East Midlands, 1635-1638;
- lists of subsidy commissioners for England and Wales, 1550-1625;
- writs of recovery from deceased Crown debtors in the last half of Elizabeth I's reign;
- estreats from the Irish Exchequer of subsidies paid by the Irish nobility between 1635 and 1641.
