Admiralty chart 144: 'Gibraltar. By Captain W H. Smyth, RN KSF'. Scale: 6.5 inches to 1 nautical mile. Compass rose. Magnetic variation 1824. Inset view: 'The New Mole-head; Ape's-hill and Ceuta in the distance'. Engraved by J & C Walker. Published at the Hydrographical Office, Admiralty, 10 May 1833. Annotation refers to Gebel Tarif, 'Saracen General founder of the City in 725'. Pencilled additions show extensions to the moles and defences. ORDER THIS DOCUMENT AS ADM 140/1261
