Reference tables to tidal levels and to the distribution of population within 14 miles of Manchester. Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator in the form of an anchor incorporating an armorial device. Insets: outline map of water communications in north-west England; enlarged plan of Manchester docks; plans and drawings of Irlam Locks, Barton Swing Aqueduct, and various docks, wharves, quays and buildings. MS label affixed to the cover: 'No. 8 G.R. James'. Originally produced as a promotional publication by the canal company.
