Description

Mary Yate, spinster, sole executrix of Hamlet Yate, gent. v. The Rev. Egerton Leigh, Doctor of Laws.: Settlement made upon the defendant's marriage with Anne the daughter of Hamlet Yate (formerly of Aston Parks (Chester), and late of Chester City). Accounts between said Hamlet Yate and defendant. The value, &c., of defendant's estates in the counties of Chester and Lancaster (of which Hamlet Yate is said to have had the management), including a tenement or farm, &c., in High Leigh (Chester) called "Burgesses" and "The Parks," in the occupation of Geo. Burges; a capital messuage, &c., in High Leigh called "The West Hall," &c., in the possession of Wm. Venables; a moiety of an estate in High Leigh called "Gleaves Tenement," in the possession of Peter Jackson. Tenements, &c., in High Leigh in the possessions of Joseph Occleston, James Bate, Thos. Peacock, Thos. Whitfield, John Leigh, Peter Barlow, Wm. Birchall, the family of the Egertons, of Tatton, John Leathes, Thos. Chorlton, John Rowlinson, Saml. Newton, Anne Harper, Peter Burgess, Thos. Knowles, John Billington, Wm. Wood, John Percival, John Savage, Peter Jackson, John Hickson, Wm. Pearson, the widow Cauley; messuages, &c., in Sutton (Lancaster), in the possession of Wm. Burgess; messuages, &c., in Manchester (Lancaster), in streets there called Millgate and Old Millgate, in the possessions of Jas. Lightbourn, Luke Ashley; a dwelling house in Manchester (Lancaster) in a street there called Smithy Door, in the possession of Anne Slater; messuages, &c., in or near two streets in Manchester called Dainsgate and St. Mary's Gate, in the possessions of Richd. Millet, Josiah Kersley, Thos. Martin, Joseph Martin, and John Booth; lands in Manchester in the possessions of Peter Brotherton, Adam Warburton, and Samuel Hide, &c., &c.
