Description

Samuel Sprott, Batchellor in Physick. v. James Moseley and his wife Anne.: Right and title to two copyhold or customary messuages or tenements, &c., situate in the manor of Longdon, in the county of Stafford, formerly in the occupation of Thos. Bilston. Touching the descent and pedigree of plaintiff, &c., &c. [The names of Henry Sprott (plaintiff's brother) and his three daughters, viz., Anne Moseley (one of the defendants), Dorothy Sprott, and Elizth. Sprott, spinsters; Thos. Sprott and his two sons, Henry Sprott his eldest son and Saml. Sprott (the plaintiff), and five daughters, viz., Anne (now the wife of John Yate, gent.), Dorothy (the late wife of John Karver, gent.), Mary (wife of Henry Jordan, apothecary), Isabell Sprott and Elizth. Sprott, spinsters; Henry Sprott, of the Marsh, in the parish of Barrow (Salop) (plaintiff's grandfather), who left issue Thos. his only son and heir-at-law (plaintiff's father), and four daughters, viz., Isabell Sprott, spinster, Anne, widow of John Price, D.D. (one of the two deponents in these depositions), Mary, the late wife of John Baldwin, gent., and Dorothy Sprott, spinster; Edward Sprott (plaintiff's great grandfather, killed at the battle of Marston Moor) and his wife Dorothy who lived at Ashmore Brooke (Stafford), and left issue Henry Sprott (late father of deponent Anne Price), and other children; Thos. Sprott (plaintiff's great great grandfather), who lived at Ashmore Brooke aforesaid, and had issue Edward Sprott (great grandfather of the deponent Anne), are mentioned.] [See also 19 Geo. 2., Trin., No. 3.]: Salop
