Description

Richard Vernon, gent. v. Susannah Minshull, widow and administratrix of Thomas Minshull, Willm Minshull, gent.: Messuage or dwelling-house, &c., in Newton, near Middlewich, in the county of Chester, called "Simcocks House" (now in the possession of JamesCook, carpenter), wherein said Thomas Minshull lived at the time of his decease. Also touching a capital messuage or manor house, &c., called "Gawsworth Hall" and "Gawsworth Estate" (Chester), &c., &c. Disputes about the possession of said hall, &c., that happened after the death of Charles late Lord Mohun, between Sir Thos. Orby, the Duchess of Hamilton, and others, and the Lady Mohun, &c., &c. Accounts between the plaintiff (who acted as solicitor to the aforesaid Sir Thos. and Duchess) and said Thos. Minshull, who was employed to keep possession of said hall, &c., on their behalf, &c., &c. [The names of Edward Vernon, late of Twemlow (Chester), employed by Thos. Orby, esquire (afterwards Sir Thos. Orby), and the said Duchess of Hamilton, as steward of the late Earl of Macclesfield's estate at Gawsworth, is mentioned.]: Chester
