The most Noble Chas. Duke of Cleveland and Southampton. v. Ethelred Davy, Joseph Veale, Richd. Limbrey.: "Duty of prisage and butleridge of French, Spanish, and all manner of wines" imported into the port of Exeter, a grant whereof (it is stated) was made to Geo. late Duke of Northumberland by King Charles the Second. Sums of money paid as composition for said duties during the life of said Duke. Value of wines imported. Amount of prisage customarily paid said to be one ton in ten. Refusal of defendants to pay prisage duty on Portugal wines brought from Lisbon to Topsham (a key of the port of Exeter), in the ship "Lusitania," &c., &c.: Devon; Lisbon.
