Thomas Penny v. Richard Hoper: Vicarage and parish of Yarpoole, the manor of Luston, and the parishes or townships of Lucton, Eyton, and Yarpoole. Touching a lease from Sir Herbert Croft, Bart., to Wm. Penny ("plaintiff's testator"). Exemption from payment of tithes for lands in Lucton aforesaid is claimed on the ground of said lands having been "abbey lands," parcel of the abbey of Reading (Berks), &c., &c. Tithes. [Owen Jones and Wm. Jones are mentioned as lessees of tithes in the aforesaid townships "under the family of the Crofts, of Croft Castle, who were intituled thereunto under Sir Jarvis Elways."]: Hereford; Berks.
