Benjamin Ferrand, Esq. v. John Batty, John Lawson, Agnes Carr, widow.: Lordship and manor of Settle (York), and the water corn-mills within said manor called "Settle Mills," "reputed to have been anciently the estate" of Geo. late Earl of Cumberland, Fras. Clifford, Esq., brother of said Earl, and Sir Wm. Ingleby, knight, &c., &c. Touching the custom of suit and service (i.e., grinding corn, &c.) alleged to be due from the inhabitants and others in said manor to said mills, &c., &c. [The names of Robt. Ferrand, Esq. (plaintiff's late father), Benjn Ferrand, gent. (plaintiff's grandfather), and Robt. Ferrand, gent. (plaintiff's great grandfather), are mentioned.]: York
