Description

John Kingdon, Robert Drew. v. John Hawkins: Value, &c., of "a divided fourth part of a messuage, tenement, or cottage called (or lyeing at) Pen Cross, in the parish of Hemiocke, in the county of Devon, and one other messuage or tenement in Hemiocke aforesaid called Penn, and one meadow thereunto belonging, late or heretofore in the possession of Robert Ellis, late of Broadhembury (Devon), yeoman, and a certain tenement called `Butts,' in the said parish of Broadhembury, also late in the possession of said Robert Ellis." Were any of said tenements settled in jointure upon Eleanor Ellis, the mother, and Joan Ellis, the wife of said Robert Ellis? &c., &c. Sale. Mortgage of said premises, &c., &c. [The names of Edwd. Ratcliffe, Robt. Ratcliffe (son of said Edwd.) and Joan Ratcliffe, are mentioned.] [See also 6 Geo. 1., Hil., No. 13; 10 Geo. 1., East., No. 16; 11 Geo. 1., Mich., No. 28.]: Devon
