Gabriel Armiger, one of the sworn clerks in the office of His Majesty's Remembrancer of the Court of Exchequer at Westminster. v. The mayor and commonalty of the city of York.: Suit brought by Edwd. Thompson (late alderman of the city of York), John Foster, Saml Dawson, and Andw. Peirce and others, freemen of the city of York, against the late Archbishop of York and Robert Squire, for establishing their right of common in the lands or ground 'in the pleadings mentioned' [lying near the city of York]. Touching the employment of John Plaxton, late of Grays Inn (Middlesex), and Chas. Bywater and Danl Copley, of the city of York, as attorneys or solicitors, and of the plaintiff as clerk in Court in the said cause. Also touching the manner of election and the duties of the officer within said city called the 'city's chamberlain or cashier,' &c., &c.: York
