Description

Short title: Short v Massingberd.

Plaintiff(s): Peter Short, John Bryan, John Bishop, Rawson Hart, and others, landowners, tenants, and inhabitants of the soake of Bollingbrooke (Lincolnshire).

Defendant(s): Sir William Massingberd, bart Richard Cuthbert, John Thornley.

Subject of depositions: Ditching and scowering of the ancient drain or sewer called Wainfleet Haven. Touching the "levell towns" vizt. Croft, Wainfleet, Bratoft, Firsby, and Irby or Thorp (Lincolnshire), and the ditching and scowring of their respective "lotts" in Wainfleet Haven by the townes in the soake of Bollingbrooke. Proceedings of the Court of Sewers, etc; , etc.

County/place: Lincolnshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1694.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 3 April 1694 at Alford.
