Description

Short title: Willes v Dean of the Cathedral of Litchfield.

Plaintiff(s): John Willes, DD, vicar of Itchington Bishops.

Defendant(s): The Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral Church of Litchfield, Lancelot Addison, DD, John Hutchinson, Anthony Nicholls, Henry Greswold, Christopher Comyn.

Subject of depositions: Prebendal house in Litchfield Close occupied by plaintiff, and his real estate, including "lands in or near the parishes of Birmingham (Warwickshire), and of Hanworth and Harboon (Staffordshire)" said to have been purchased by the plaintiff (about 1683) from Henry Ford, gent.

County/place: Staffordshire; Warwickshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1694.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 10 April 1694 at Litchfield.
