Description

Short title: Leyson v James.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Leyson.

Defendant(s): Bolton James, Edmund Pearson, Richard King, William Tuffe, Richard Newport, Roger Pike, Thomas Syre, Thomas Bufton, Thomas Rumsey, Adam Lafford.

Subject of depositions: Manor and town of Hungerford and Sanden Fee (Berkshire and Wilts), and the ancient mills there called "Hungerford Mills." Touching the custom of "suit and service" (i.e. grinding corn, etc) due by the inhabitants of said manor, to said mills.

County/place: Berkshire; Wiltshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1692.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 31 March 1692 at Hungerford.
