Plaintiff(s): Warwick Ledgingham and his wife Mary, Martha Ledgingham (an infant), the only daughter and heir of said Warwick her, next friend, Paul Bowes and William Crofts.
Defendant(s): John Elwell, of the city of Exeter, merchant.
Subject of depositions: Manor, hundred, and parish of Ottery St Mary (Devon). Touching the five several tenures in said manor, namely "soccage tenure which is freehold customary tenure properly and strictly soe called five acre tenure, and Old Barton tenure which are copyhold of inheritance, and New Barton tenure, which is the lord's demesnes." Customs of manor. [A decree in the Court of Starr Chamber in the reign of King Henry VIII. in a suit between the late wardens and chanons of the College of Ottery when they were lords of the said manor of Ottery, and the copyholders or tenants of said manor touching the customs of said manor, and a suit between the now plaintiff Warwick and others against Gideon Haydon, defendant, are mentioned].
