Description

Short title: Attorney General v Pirton.

Plaintiff(s): The Attorney General, at the relation of the mayor, bridge-masters, and burgesses of the town of Maidenhead.

Defendant(s): Edward Pirton, one of the defendants.

Subject of depositions: Town of Maidenhead (Berkshire). Touching toll levied upon carts, waggons, stage coaches, hackney coaches, passing over the bridge, there called Maidenhead Bridge, towards the maintaining and repairing of said bridge. [A charter of King Henry 6, dated 30 Henry 6. is mentioned].

County/place: Berkshire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1691.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 14 January 1692 at Maidenhead.
