Description

Short title: Dashwood v Duke of Newcastle.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Dashwood, kt and bart.

Defendant(s): Henry Duke of Newcastle, Penistone Whalley, Thomas Thoroton, Thomas Hall, clerk.

Subject of depositions: Manor or manors of Carcolstone and the manor of Streventon (Nottinghamshire), a fee-farm rent of £20 stated to have been paid to the Crown for each of said manors. The manor and parish of Carcolstone is said to include several other manors, namely the manors of Bulby, Willo'by, and Kirton or Streveton. Touching the estates of said Duke of Newcastle in Carcolston, including the rectory there. Also touching the estates of the other defendants in said parish. Metes and bounds. Tithes, etc.

County/place: Nottinghamshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1691.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 16 April 1691 at Nottingham.
