Description

Short title: Specott v Chapman.

Plaintiff(s): John Specott.

Defendant(s): John Chapman, Jenkin Thomas, Thomas May, Charles Kelly, Ethelred Davy, Agnes Clemett alias Clement.

Subject of depositions: Manor or borough of Great Torrington (Devon), and five water greist mills lying within said manor or borough, four whereof are called "the Town Mills" and the other "Cantills Mill." Touching the custom of suit and service (i.e. grinding corn, etc) of the inhabitants of said manor to said mills.

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 24 April 1689.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 14 May 1689 at Great Torrington.
