Description

Short title: Bathurst v Zouch.

Plaintiff(s): John Bathurst.

Defendant(s): James Zouch.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Odiham (Southampton) (of which defendant is lord) Touching farms called Rye Farm and Park Corner (in plaintiff's possession), and a farm "antiently called Carvers Land" and now called "Rivers Land" and a farm called Stapleigh alias "Stapleigh Farm" and another farm late in the occupation of "Hole" and now of Michael Belton. Right of common of "estovers and bootes" i.e. houseboote, ploweboote, cartboote, stileboote, and gateboote, upon the commons or waste grounds called "Rye Common" and "Horsedowne Common" etc. Whether the manor of Odiham is "ancient demeasne" with several "measne manors" within, and that hold of the manor, "as the manors of Grewell, Rotherwicke, Sturtons, and Gerards "? etc. Metes and bounds. Customs of manor and manors. [Lord Zouch, Sir Edward Zouch (defendant's grandfather), and James Zouch (defendant's father), as lords of the manor of Odiham, are mentioned].
