Description

Short title: Zouch v Bathurst.

Plaintiff(s): James Zouch.

Defendant(s): Anthony Bathurst.

Subject of depositions: Manor and hundred of Odiham and the manor of Hartley Wintney, of which plaintiff is lord, and Sir Edward Zouch (plaintiff's grandfather) and James Zouch (plaintiff's father) were former lords, and which, after the decease of James Zouch, was enjoyed by Sir John Lloyd (plaintiff's "father-in-law" step-father?) and his wife Dame Beatrice (plaintiff's late mother) as her jointure. Touching right and title to lands in Hartley Wintney, heretofore in the possession of Michael Draper, ancestor of Richard Draper, and lands there, formerly in the occupation of Christopher Draper and George Hoptree alias Hoptrough.

County/place: Hampshire.

Date of commission: 4 July 1688.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 18 October 1688 at Odiham.
