Description

Short title: Attorney General v Spooner.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Sawyer, kt (Attorney General), on behalf of His Ma'tie.

Defendant(s): Christopher Spooner, Katherine Petch, spinster, Thomas Tresse, John Cock, Richard Cuthbert, William Cuthbert, Thomas Merrell, yeoman, Edmund Wilby, John Stevenson, Christopher Coxon, mercer, John Thompson, Richard Palfreyman, John Wilby, John Bowcer.

Subject of depositions: Township of Friskney (Lincolnshire), and the grounds in the township commonly called "the Rising Grounds" or "the Toft Grounds" and the marshes in Friskney aforesaid called "Friskney Marshes" etc. Whether formerly overflowed by the sea and since gained from the sea? Metes and bounds. Right of common of pasture. Alleged intrusion of the inhabitants of Friskney on the grounds. [A former suit between Peregrine Bertie and the owners of the marshes (relating to the right and title thereto) is mentioned].

County/place: Lincolnshire.

Date of commission: 15 June 1687.
