Description

Short title: Haddock v Ratcliffe.

Plaintiff(s): Timothy Haddock.

Defendant(s): Sir Francis Ratcliffe, bart (now Earl of Derwentwater), Thomas Addison, Henry Inman.

Subject of depositions: City and corporation of Carlisle, and the tolls and dues upon cattle, brought into or exported from the city, and claimed by the corporation, i.e. "Scotland Toll" or one penny for every bullock, ox, or stear, and two pence for every horse, and two pence for every score of sheep that were brought out of Scotland or Ireland into Cumberland.

County/place: Cumberland.

Date of commission: 15 June 1687.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 13 October 1687 at Haytown.
