Description

Short title: Earl of Sandwich v Bayspoole.

Plaintiff(s): The Rt Hon Edward Earl of Sandwich.

Defendant(s): Miles Bayspoole, one of the defendants.

Subject of depositions: Mills in Aylesham called "Aylsham Mills." Whether such mills are parcel of the duchy of Lancaster, and whether a rent of £8l 6s 8d was payable out of said mills to the Crown,and granted by Charles the Second to the Earl of Sandwich (plaintiff's late father)? etc. [Robert Doughty, of Aylesham, "farmer or under-tenant of the liberty of the duchy of Lancaster, in Norfolk" and "owner of said mills" (of whom defendant is said to have purchased the mills for the sum of £370), is mentioned].

County/place: Norfolk.

Date of commission: 12 February 1687.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 16 April 1687 at Norwich.
