Description

Short title: Smith v Hoskyns.

Plaintiff(s): John Smith.

Defendant(s): Sir William Hoskyns, kt, Thomas Causton.

Subject of depositions: Fee-farm rents payable to the Crown for lands in Oxted (Surrey), called "Perryes ", "Levetts ", "Harborers" in the occupation of defendants, and lately belonging to George Plaw, and formerly in the possession of one Stanninough, and a "great farm" in Croydon, lately belonging to Plaw. [The names and possessions of Sir Marmaduke Gresham, bart Sir W. Haward, knight, Francis Brasier, and Richard Jeale, are mentioned].

County/place: Surrey.

Date of commission: 29 November 1686.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 17 January 1687 at Oxted.
