Description

Short title: Attorney General v Viscount Cashells.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Sawyer, kt (Attorney - General), at the relation of Sarah White, widow.

Defendant(s): The Rt Hon Robert Viscount Cashells in the kingdom of Ireland [called Robert Lord Viscount Bulkely in the heading to the interrogatories for the defendants], Margaret Hughes, widow, Owen Roberts.

Subject of depositions: Farming of the profits of the original seal for the several counties of Anglesea, Carnarvon, and Merioneth, by Rowland White, the elder (plaintiff's late husband), to whom Hugh Hughes (defendant's late husband) was deputy, Rowland White, the younger, and Henry White, who compounded for, and assessed all compositions upon fines and common recoveries suffered in the counties, and who, with their deputies, did solely manage the office of chamberlain of North Wales (held by the defendant Viscount Cashells), and had the custody of the original seal appertaining thereto. Fees of office. Salary of deputy. Execution of the offices of chamberlain and deputy chamberlain. Accounts of profits.
