Description

Short title: Earl of Mulgrave v Boynton.

Plaintiff(s): The Rt Hon John Earl of Mulgrave, George Lord Carteret, Robert Ryther, and others.

Defendant(s): Sir John Boynton, kt (one of his Majesty's serjeants - at - law), William Marwood, John Harvey, and others.

Subject of depositions: Grounds in the manor of Epworth in the Isle of Axholme (Lincolnshire), "being part of the marshes and waste grounds drained and improved by Sir Cornelius Vermuden and his participants" and the award of Sir John Banks (Attorney General to his late Majesty Charles the First) about the dreyning, and the decree of the Court of Exchequer, made for the confirmation of the award. Right of common in wastes.

County/place: Lincolnshire.

Date of commission: 23 June 1686.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 21 September 1686 at Crowle.
