Description

Short title: Squire v Lee.

Plaintiff(s): John Squire, John Rumney, debtors and accomptants to his Majesty in the Court of Exchequer.

Defendant(s): William Lee, William Blackett, John Leoman.

Subject of depositions: "Lease or estate" made by Sir William Waller (deceased) unto Thomas Craddock and Joseph Craddock of the priseage and butlerage of all manner of wines within the ports or havens of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Melthorpe, Workington, Sunderland-upon-the-Sea, Hartlepoole, Stockton, Whitby, the city of Carlisle, or the port or haven thereof, within the counties of York, Northumberland, Cumberland, Westmorland, or the county palatine of Durham. Touching the evasion (by defendants) of the duty and custom of priseage on wines imported into Stockton.

County/place: Newcastle-upon-Tyne; Yorkshire; Northumberland; Cumberland; Westmorland; Durham.

Date of commission: 12 February 1685.
