Description

Short title: Wimberley v Harris.

Plaintiff(s): Bevil Wimberley, Francis Corey, Richard Harris, Michael Yorke, William Greene, William Stanley, William Johnson, Francis Bingham, Robert Thirkill, William Thirkill, Ambrose Hooke, clerk.

Defendant(s): Katherine Harris, Thomas Wright, Thomas Weatherhog, John Weatherhog, John Pridgeon, John Adlard, Robert Steele, Henry Jolly, William May.

Subject of depositions: "Two thousand fower hundred and fifty acres, parcell of the Great Marsh, called Sutton Marsh, in Lincolnshire, in which the landowners and inhabitants of the fower townes of Sutton St Maries, Sutton St Nicholas alias Lutton, Sutton St James, and Sutton St Edmonds have common of pasture for their commonable cattle" etc. Touching the relative advantages of enclosing eighty acres, or levying a proportionate rate on the commoners to meet the expenses of preventing the inclosure of the wastes. Also touching the "late acc'on brot by the Countesse of Newburgh" for recovery of part of the common.
